The Vacancy
Trinity School is recruiting a dynamic and forward-thinking Assistant Director of Sport to lead Girls’ Sport as we move towards full co-education in September 2027. This is an exciting chance to shape the strategic direction of girls’ sport within a thriving, well-resourced department. Recent investment includes refurbished astro facilities and a new dance, spin, and yoga studio, with a brand-new 4-court netball centre starting construction this summer.
Working closely with the Director of Sport, the successful candidate will help deliver an inclusive, high-quality programme that maintains our tradition of sporting excellence. We welcome applications from current Heads of Department or Heads of Major Sports, especially those with experience in girls’ education. Candidates should be outstanding coaches in at least one major sport, with high-level playing or coaching experience an advantage. The role also includes form tutor responsibilities and other duties as required.
We are a diverse community at Trinity and strongly encourage applications from teaching and operational staff from a range of backgrounds. To enable us to make any reasonable adjustments, please let us know when you submit your application whether you have any special requirements.
The Company
Trinity is one of two schools governed by the Whitgift Foundation, founded in 1596 by the then Archbishop of Canterbury, John Whitgift.
Trinity’s academic results regularly place it among the top schools in the country.
In 2022 Trinity was ranked 23rd in the Parent Power list of Top 100 Independent Schools in the UK and 13th in London, making it the top-ranked independent school in Croydon.
Beyond academic results, we celebrate intellectual curiosity and foster a culture in which pupils feel inspired to take a genuine interest in the world around them.
Exceptional staff is fundamental to our mission and we look forward to welcoming outstanding candidates to join our team.
Trinity School reserves the right to interview and appoint before the published closing date. Trinity strongly encourages applications from ethnic minority candidates. 42% of our students are from ethnic minority backgrounds and we want to have a staff body that reflects the diversity of the school and our local area.
Trinity School is committed to safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children, young people and adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All applicants will be required to comply with all safeguarding procedures including an Enhanced DBS check.
Our Values
At Trinity our focus is on leading through values; on the kind of young people that our students become through being at Trinity, with day-to-day school experiences and a love of learning shaping them before they move on to extraordinary futures.
